The applications for nonwovens are as diverse as the present and future concepts being developed in the car industry. Nonwovens have already replaced a large number of traditional materials in the automobile construction industry.

The fact that nonwovens have replaced an increasing number of traditional materials over the last few years is certainly not unfounded. An example of the versatility of nonwovens is in the car industry. This generally comprises of special developments in the material – a combination of function, shape and colour. Whether ductile and dye-fast, stabile and dust-free, flame-retardant , non-fade, highly rigid or elastic, dirt-resistant or washable and with a number of other properties.
In the automobile construction industry, nonwovens can be employed to solve a whole range of tasks: as technical components, they insulate, dam, seal, filter and protect. Using new and cost-optimised processing techniques, nonwovens can be turned into components with high-quality textile surfaces – for a sophisticated interior.
Their contribution to the dashboard or to the inside roof lining is often inconspicuous, as is their contribution to successful design – flexible, rich in variety, functional and economic.
