Venice Milan Highway

The project concerned more than 40 km of highway constructed on a sandy subsoil.

The product installed was Geotess 200 gr a geotextile designed for separation and filtration in the subbase. To stabilise the subbase and to prevent washing out of the fine sandy material in the subbase, yet still allowing free movement of watertable, was required a nonwoven geotextile with ability to create high filtration. This has been the case, even in areas where dynamic water flows could be expected, causing higher risk of movement and washing out of fines.

To ensure the stability of the road construction, the nonwoven geotextile is placed between two construction layers to prevent the migration of materials, yet allowing free movement of water. The effect of the Geotess 200 by Tessilbrenta was considered ideal for this purpose being efficiently able to create a natural filter together with the surrounding soil.

At the same time the chosen geotextiles has demonstrate an high resistance level to damage during installation due to the optimum relation between mechanical strength and elongations.
